Donate Money Today
The Life After Exoneration Program relies on individual contributions and receives no government funding to:
  • Coordinate direct services for exonerees
  • Provide basic resources such as food, clothing, transportation, computers and emergency funds
  • Match exonerees with pro bono legal service providers
  • Maintain a peer network of exonerees
  • Lobby for legislative reform, support advocacy efforts, and develop model state policies outlining exoneree services.

In-Kind Donations
New or nearly new computers and related equipment are needed to provide a personal computer to members of the exonerated community. If you have such equipment, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with product's make and model number and your location. For portable equipment, please advise LAEP if you are willing to ship to California.

Additionally, we need gift cards to major clothing retailers (i.e. Sears, GAP) and grocery stores so that we can provide them to exonerees upon their release from prison to aid in their transition back to their communities. If you are interested in providing a gift card, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

Volunteer
Skilled volunteers provide valuable resources for the Life After Exoneration Program. Please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and tell us how you can help, and attach a resume. In order to volunteer, you do not necessarily need to be located in the Bay Area in California. We have several stellar volunteers who assist us with projects such as editing, answering prison mail and database research. Other areas where we need volunteer support are:
  • Fundraising
  • Internet research
  • Graphic design
  • Event coordination

The Life After Exoneration Program is deeply grateful to the following volunteers for their outstanding service in the past year:
  • Reuben Muñoz: designing the LAEP logo
  • Dr. Kathleen Blumreich: editing The Exoneree Times newsletter
  • Elisabeth Hershman, Van Prooyen Greenfield LLP: media content and fundraising support
  • Mary Connell: answering prison mail
  • Bartosz Majczak: graphic design
